Yaw Koduah-Sarpong

Yaw Koduah-Sarpong

Chairman Of The Board

Yaw is the Founder of NYKS Group Ltd and has a background in Accounting, Finance and  Taxation with over 18 years experience in the Oil and Gas sector. He serves as CEO of SA Energy Ltd, an affiliate Bulk Distribution Company. He holds directorships in several companies including Paradise Havens Estate Ltd,  Ladybird Logistics Ltd and Transroyal Commodities Ltd. He is also a Director of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD), Legacy Bonds Ltd and an advisory board member of Sarpong Capital Ltd. Yaw is a Chartered Accountant and holds certificates in “Negotiation and Competitive Decision-Making” and “Influence and Negotiation Strategies” from the Harvard Business School and Stanford University, respectively. Before his work in the Oil and Gas sector, Yaw was a Tax and Legal Consultant at Ernst & Young Ghana.

Daniel Amoah

Daniel Amoah

Non-Executive Director

Daniel is a Non-Executive Director of Unicorn Petroleum Limited. He worked for the Ministry of Energy, Ghana, from 1987 to 2005, and served as Acting Director of Petroleum and Head Petroleum Downstream in 2001. He was also directly responsible for petroleum product pricing, planning and research from October 2005 to January 2013 at the National Petroleum Authority (NPA). He serves as a non-executive Director of SA Energy Ltd, a bulk distribution company (BDC), and sits on the Boards of Chase Petroleum, Tema Tank Farm, Adinkra Supply Company, Adinkra Storage Company and United Storage Company Limited. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Methodist Development Fund (MDF), of The Methodist Church, Ghana.

Non-Executive Director

Yaw is a Chartered Accountant with over ten years’ experience in bulk oil distribution in the petroleum downstream sector in Ghana. He holds extensive knowledge in Finance, Financial Reporting, Treasury management, Oil Trading, Operational and Management Controls, and Corporate governance. Currently, he is the Chief Operating Officer/Head of Business at SA Energy Limited, a Licensed Bulk Oil Distributing company in Ghana.

Baffour Osei Yamoah

Baffour Osei Yamoah

Managing Director

Baffour is responsible for Unicorn’s governance and retail network development. He obtained his first degree from the University of Cape Coast, and also holds a post-graduate certificate in Marketing Management from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He is a Marketing expert credited for both Unique Oil, and Gaso Petroleum’s brand and retail outlet development. Baffour joined Unicorn Petroleum Limited in January 2021 from Gaso Petroleum Limited where he was the Managing Director for Five (5) years. He previously served at Unique Oil Limited also as Managing Director. He has over 10 years working experience in the petroleum downstream sector.

Kwabena Akuoko Boamah

Kwabena Akuoko Boamah

Chief Financial Officer

Kwabena Boamah is the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of Unicorn Petroleum Limited and also doubles as the CFO of SA Energy Limited, an affiliate Bulk Distribution Company(BDC). Kwabena is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as well as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts, Ghana (ICAG). He holds a postgraduate degree in Law and Finance (MSc) from the Queen Mary University of London and a BSc Administration (Accounting Option) from the University of Ghana. Kwabena has extensive knowledge in auditing and control systems, taxation, corporate finance, cash flow management, corporate financial reporting, international commercial law and investment management based on his over 10 years’ working experience in finance and accounting with a professional firm and in industry. Kwabena joined Unicorn Petroleum Limited from Tema Fuel Company where he served as the Financial Accountant. Prior to this, he worked in the assurance and tax lines of service with professional accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he rose to the level of Senior Associate.

Kwabena Ohene Boateng

Head, Operations

Kwabena is in charge of managing all retail operations. He has a Master of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Professional Studies, Legon-Accra (2019), and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Valley View University, Oyibi-Accra (2014). He holds crucial knowledge in Financial Accounting, Corporate Reporting Strategies, Taxation, Audit procedures and Strategic Operational Management. Kwabena worked in retail operations for an OMC as Operations officer for four (4) years. He was part of the team responsible for the management of station inventory, credit control, pricing, and compliance with all regulatory bodies. He has also worked with the Saltpond Offshore Producing Company Limited (SOPCL) in the accounts department. Kwabena also doubles as Head of Operations for SA Energy Limited, an affiliate Bulk Distribution Company(BDC).

Robert Adu

Robert Adu

Head, Trade & Commerce

Robert is an alumnus of Bryant University (Rhode Island – USA), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and a double minor in Marketing and Supply Chain Management. He previously worked with Ghana International Bank Plc, UK as a junior analyst before working with Cal Asset Management, Ghana as a Business Development Analyst. He is also the Head of Trade & Commerce at SA Energy Limited, an affiliate Bulk Distribution Company (BDC). His other business interests include Finance, Manufacturing and Real Estate Development.

Akwasi Boakye Yiadom

Head, Marketing

Akwasi holds an EMBA in Marketing from University of Ghana Business School, Legon. He earlier obtained a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing Option) from Valley View University, Oyibi (2010). Akwasi has extensive in-depth experience in Relationship Management, Customer Service, Sales and Marketing, Advertising and Marketing Communication, and Market Strategy. Akwasi joined Unicorn Petroleum in August of 2020 from Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), where he held the position of Branch Manager/Relationship Manager for 2 years. He also worked with The Beige Bank as a Branch Manager. Akwasi also doubles as Head of Marketing for SA Energy Limited, an affiliate Bulk Distribution Company (BDC).

Mary Awurakua Kwankye

Mary Awurakua Kwankye

Human Resource & Office Manager

Mary has an outstanding ability to design, implement, evaluate, and maintain the process of work in the office, while sustaining and improving efficiency and productivity. She acquired her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Human Resource) from Wisconsin University College Accra in 2019. Mary was part of the Human Resource team at the Ghana Community Network Service (GCnet), and has work experience in the construction and telecom industry over the past ten years. She has worked with Imperial Homes Ghana Ltd as an Administrative Assistant, as executive assistant at GKL Ghana Ltd., and at RLG Communications Limited, where she was with the customer service team.

Head, Northern Sector Operations

Akwasi joined Unicorn Petroleum on the 1st of August 2020 from Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited where he worked as a Personal Banker for two (2) years. He obtained a Master of Science (Accounting & Finance) degree from the Christian Service University College, Kumasi (2018), and a Bachelor of Education in Information Technology from the University of Education, Winneba (2010). He has expert knowledge in Strategic Operational Management, Financial Accounting, Corporate Reporting, Taxation, and Internal Audit procedures. He has also previously worked with The Royal Bank where he served as Manager of the Central Processing Unit, and with Ascod Construction Company Limited as Deputy Manager in charge of cost control, revenue & expenditure monitoring and establishment of work procedure, workflow & overall operational efficiency.

Kwame Adomako Baafi

Kwame Adomako Baafi

Head Of Southern Sector Operations & LPG Development

Kwame obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon in 2011, and joined Unicorn Petroleum Ltd in October 2020. He had previously worked at Gaso Petroleum Limited, where he served as an operations officer for six years. He led the team responsible for the management of all depot or terminal related operations, including compliance with all regulatory bodies. He is also the Head of Southern Sector Operations & LPG Development for SA Energy Limited. Kwame has also worked with Perivale Construction as part of their operations team and with AVM Oils where he served as an administrator.

Patrick Amoma Koranteng

Patrick Amoma Koranteng

Finance & Accounts

Patrick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from the Presbyterian University College, Accra, and is currently a student member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK). He has worked in the hospitality, health, and banking industries for the past six years. He joined Unicorn Petroleum from Absa Bank Ghana Ltd (formerly Barclays Bank Ghana Ltd.) where he worked as an Operations, Processing & Settlements Officer. He was part of the projects and management of foreign bank accounts teams. He is also the Finance & Accounts officer for SA Energy Limited, a Bulk Distribution Company (BDC).

Kwame Opoku

Kwame Opoku

Assistant, Northern Sector Operations

Kwame holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration from the University of Ghana. He served as a pricing and planning officer with the National Petroleum Authority (NPA). He was responsible for, reconciling the sales volumes for various bulk distribution companies, and conducting price monitoring exercises on LPG, petrol and diesel. As a student of Public Administration, courses such as Commercial Law, Accounting and Administrative Law were crucial in preparing him for effective organizational functioning. Kwame has also worked with the National Investment Bank (NIB) as an intern. He has served as a volunteer with The Nana Akua Afriyie Busia Foundation (NAAB Foundation). Kwame Joined Unicorn Petroleum from Parliament where he served as a Research Assistant.
